GEOLOGY
The Chelopech deposit represents one of Europe's largest producing gold and copper mines. The deposit comprises a number of discrete ore bodies within an andesitic to dacitic volcanic complex of hostrocks on the northern side

MINING
The mine is access by a 5.5m diameter concrete lined circular steel shaft (Kapitalna Shaft) which is 345m deep (Collar elevation is at 731m ASL). The operations access is on the 405m ASL elevation which handles wagon haulage and hoisting

PROCESSING
The current practice at Chelopech is to use conventional three-stage crushing followed by a two-stage grinding circuit to prepare feed for selective flotation to extract a gold-rich copper concentrate

ANCILIARY SERVICES
Boilers are used at the Chelopech mine site for domestic and heating needs. The boiler house contains two burners and uses bunker oil for fuel. An analytical laboratory has been established with the co-operation of an internationally accredited assayer (SGS) and has ISO Certification
