Ian has had over 20 years experience in process plant design, testwork, feasibility studies, commissioning and team management on major international and local projects.
This includes extensive experience in the management and execution of feasibility studies for both international and Australian projects; in the treatment of refractory gold ores and copper/gold ores; in the design of comminution circuits; and in the design of industrial minerals process plants. Many of these projects have involved the introduction of new technology and/or development in remote, overseas locations.
Ian was responsible for the management of the Process & Studies Group for a leading engineering company, with responsibility for overseeing the design and construction of a number of major, cutting edge process plant projects including nickel laterite, pressure oxidation and large capacity copper concentrators.
Ian holds a PhD in Metallurgy awarded from the Royal School of Mines on a project on development of methodology for computer aided design and evaluation of minerals extraction plants. Ian is a co-author of a number of technical papers and publications in metallurgy and different aspects impacting the efficiency of metallurgical processes.
